        Tuesday, the 23rd of May 2000, is the second day of the International Catholic Film and Multimedia Festival Niepokalanov 2000. The first film that was presented today was "Wojciech Ziembinski and his way to independence" by Andrzej R.Arwar. The film is about Wojciech Ziembinski who is well known for active engagement in the idea of independence and who supported ardently the values he believed in, despite of being persecuted and ill. The next film entitled "To conjure the wind" by Mariusz Malec is a tryptic describing the photographical passions of Stanislaw Markowski. A three minute TV programme "Saint Anthony" by Krzysztof Zurowski was an attempt to answer the following question: "Why is Saint Anthony a patron of the lost things?". The next film, projected on the Festival was "Without walls" by Izabela Stapf, which was inspirited on an independent catholic magazine edited by a prisoner. Janusz Grzegorz Pogorzelski's film from Canada "Fascination" tells us about the life and work of a painter Stanislaw Konarz-Konarzewski.
The afternoon projection began with the documentary film "A large part of the life of Edmund Majkowski - a sculptor" by Janusz Horodniczy and Krzysztof Wojciechowski. The main character loses his right hand in an accident. Thanks to the miracle done by the surgeon with the help of God, the sculptor was able to continue his work. The main character of this film Mr. Edmund Majkowski together with his wife, supporting him in the sufferings, was present during the projection of the film. "Autism" by Magdalena Lewandowska, the second film in the video series "Behind a glass wall" makes the viewer convinced as to the importance of integration of handicapped children with their peers. Magdalena Lewandowska and the mother of an autistic girl - Paulina, were present during the projection of the film. Today there was also presented the catechetic programme by Zbigniew Kucharski "Do you know that...", concerning the problem of alcohol abuse. The next film "Living till the end" by Barbara Pawlowska deals with the problem of death, which is treated by many people as taboo, even though it is the only thing of our life that we are sure of. "Crucified in Ukraine", of Niepokalanov Television, directed by Magdalena Iwinska was the next film to be presented. Then the following films and TV programmes were projected: a TV programme of the local Srem Cable Television "The joy of being old" by Malgorzata Jurgowiak, "the amatour film "Eustachia and hungry spirits" by Albert Zawada, a TV programme of the local Kolo Cable Television "In the school of Grandma Krycha" by Krystyna Jakubowski, which is a part of the series "The stories of Grandma Krycha" awarded on the previous festivals, and the amateur films "The first beat" by Leon Daniel and "The window" by Kacper Czubak. In the evening a film "Burnt-offering", by Ewa Swiecinska, was presented as a recollection of the Pope's schoolmates. The evening event was the new jubilee version of the film "Jesus" based on the Saint Luke's Good News prepared by the Millennium Films International -the Office of Jubilee Evangelisation in Czestochowa. On Wednesday the Primate Jozef Glemp visits the Festival. The following films will be presented: Alina Czerniakowska's and Krzysztof Nowak-Tyszowiecki's film about the drama of the members of the Polish National Army ("AK") as well as films telling about the meetings of the youth in Lednica and evangelisation during the Polish Woodstock. On Thursday there will be projections of foreign films. At 2 p.m. the presentations of the radio programmes begin. The main award is the Marshall of Seym Award (Maciej Plazynski). There will also be music records and presentation of www sites. The Festival Closing Ceremony will be held in John Paul II Gallery, the Porczynscy Foundation in Warsaw.
